What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the science, art and philosophy based upon the understanding that good health depends, in part, upon a normally functioning nervous system (especially the spine, and the nerves extending from the spine to all parts of the body). Chiropractic stresses the idea that the cause of many disease processes begins with the body’s inability to adapt to it’s environment. It looks to address these diseases not by the use of drugs and chemicals, but by locating and adjusting a musculoskeletal area of the body which is functioning improperly.
What does a doctor of chiropractic do?
Chiropractors examine the spine to evaluate structure and function. Doctors of Chiropractic are trained to be primary care physicians, however focus primarily on the detection, correction and prevention of spinal or vertebral subluxations. They use the spinal adjustment to remove these subluxations and normalize spinal and nervous system function.
